A Message from Penny:

Welcome to Bar W Bar Ranch!

We've got beef with mass produced meats. When we discovered where store-bought beef came from, it was eye opening. We wanted to eat more humanely and sustainably raised beef - so we decided to do it ourselves. Our pasture raised steers are all grass fed for the first 14 months, then we add grain to their diet for the next 10 months to create the best marbling around. After discovering the perfect beef for ourselves, we knew we had to share this with the rest of Texas!

We left the big city behind to start our dream of small town living. We have 12 acres just outside of Lone Oak, Texas. We are raising steers and hope to add more livestock such as chickens, pigs, and goats in the future. We're just getting started and have big plans... so stay tuned for more.

I grew up with my Grandfather a preacher and farmer in Canada while Vic's Great Grandfather was a rancher from Oklahoma. Ranching is in our blood and we hope you'll love our beef as much as we do!

But what about antibiotics, hormones, and steroids?

Our cattle are raised without antibiotics, hormones and steroids. If our steers get sick, we do everything we can to get it healthy. If our steers receive antibiotics, hormones, or steroids we sell the steer. It's that simple.
